Show Spotlight: B.A.D.ASS Raves Presents Temple of Boom DC
Here in DC we’re very blessed as far as music goes. Aside from a plethora of shows happening on any given night, we have so many top tier venues to house those shows that we’ve become the envy of cities all around the world. Places like U Street Music Hall, Flash, Echostage, The 9:30 Club, the list is basically endless; any city would be lucky to have even one venue off that list, and we have them all. It’s really remarkable, but what’s even more remarkable is the talent; we have talent and innovators, people that continue to push the envelope show after show, people that will decide it’s too easy to throw a killer show at an internationally ranked venue. So, you know, why not throw a party in a parking garage near Gallaudet University, a school for the deaf?
Then add 80,000 watts of bass, a barbecue, an Egyptian temple theme, and a car that’s there for the sole purpose of smashing up, and you’re left with a show that could really only be put together by B.A.D.ASS Raves.
This Saturday, at a parking garage located at 800 Florida Ave NE in Washington, DC, B.A.D.ASS Raves and Alpha Sigma Pi are hosting the first DC installment of
Temple of Boom. Much like the Temple of Boom shows in Baltimore, B.A.D.ASS will be transforming this parking garage into an Egyptian temple, complete with 3D mapping with psychedelic projections onto the on-stage pyramid DJ booth.
And don’t think they skimped on the talent, either. This isn’t just any old warehouse rave, they’re bringing out some truly heavy hitters, including Ms. Speed herself, Reidspeed, for a headlining drum n bass set. Mantis will be playing their signature heavy dubstep/deathstep. And Algo will be rounding out the headliners with a dubstep step to really put those 80,000 watts to work. And as with any DC show, the local talent is sure to make the headliners earn their keep with The Beltway Banditz, Droosie, and Teszero on the bill.
To sweeten the deal even more,
Temple of Boom DC is a benefit show, with donations going to the American Society for Deaf Children. So come out, eat some food, smash a car, catch some killer DJs, and help out a good cause at
Temple of Boom DC, this Saturday, April 18th at the parking garage located at 800 Florida Ave NE, Washington, DC.
