What We’re All About
Here at Alternate Frequency, we’re interested in one thing: good music. We’re not here to be those pretentious guys foisting themselves and their opinions on you like they’re the only ones that matter. For everything we know about music, there’s easily twice as much out there that we don’t know, and we’re the first to admit that. We’re just two guys who are obsessed enough with music to start up a website devoted to discovering and discussing it.
That being said, we aren’t going to give you the blow-by-blow every time Deadmau5 throws a fit on Twitter, or post all fifteen identical mainstage big-room sets from Tomorrowland. What we will do is bring you quality coverage on quality music we believe you should be hearing. Think of us less as a news outlet and more of a site for a dissemination of musical culture. Culture we care about sharing with you, and culture you feel should be shared with us.
We’ve sat around and read music blogs from the sidelines for a long time. The coverage on most of them – especially certain EDM-centric sites – has gone from more or less passable to borderline atrocious. When spelling and grammar errors become commonplace and the focus shifts from good music to whatever will get people clicking on your site, it’s time for a change. With your readership and interaction combined with our quality-first approach, we hope to get that ball rolling. If you want to know the ten best ways to get backstage at a festival, or the twenty two reasons EDM chicks make better girlfriends, we can’t help you. If you’re looking for a pair of degree-certified writers who could care less about anything but bringing you the best music coverage from all genres, you’ve come to the right place.
We are Alternate Frequency. Thanks for tuning in.
