News: All Good Rounds Out Lineup, Continues Partnership With Believe In Music
–Written by Kevin Madert
Music has long possessed the ability to bring people together and enable positive change in society, and this year attendees to the 18th All Good Music Festival will experience just that. The festival – set for July 9-11 – announced today the addition of the Believe In Music stage, continuing their partnership with the Baltimore non-profit that strives to promote creativity and self-awareness through music in underprivileged communities.
The stage will have its home in the campground area of the festival grounds, and will host performances from newly announced acts Big Something, ELM, B-Side Shuffle, Drop Electric, Fletcher’s Grove, Grand Ole Ditch, Tabasco Bustelo, and Second Self.
Believe In Music was founded in 2012 by The Bridge’s Kenny Liner in hopes of giving back to the youth of the city where he and his band have their roots. Last year the organization partnered with All Good Presents to hold the first Believe In Music Festival, with headlining performances from Thievery Corporation & Rodrigo y Gabriela. This year they’ve set their sights on curating, and All Good has done a great job integrating them into their festival plan. They’ll be making an individual donation on behalf of each artist playing the stage, and various main stage acts will be conducting workshops on the stage throughout the weekend.
With all the negativity swirling around this year’s All Good – questions about the new venue, feuds over perceptions of a “lackluster” lineup, locals who just can’t seem to accept the festival’s existence – this news is a welcome respite.
